Project-A Foreing Insider's View of Summers in Minnesota, USA, 2013 - ongoing
Over the last 10 years, the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St Paul area) has become increasingly diverse. Since 2002, the Somali community is the largest in the country. The Latino Community has grown even faster, with aproximately 200,000 Mexicans. The 2000 census recorded 41,600 Mexican-born people in Minnesota, up from 3,500 counted in 1990. After frigid winters, summers are the time when Minnesotans have the opportunity to share the same public space and socialize. A new identity is emerging.
